4- Palatine

 

The Palatine is one of the most pleasant archaeological sites of the city, shaded with pines and overgrown with light vegetation. Reaching the hill by walking up from the Roman Forum can be seen the relics of the Palace of Septimius Severus including a wide stadium once used for games and races. The Domus Augustana, the Domus Flavia, the house of Augustus, the house of Livia, the Huts of Romulus which strictly are traces of an 8th century B.C. village and the Temple of Cybele also known as the Temple of the Magna Mater.
